Yesterday, I spent most of my day at the annual Falls Town Food Truck Challenge. There was not a lot of press leading up to the event. The only mention, that I heard, was Tuesday on the local radio. It is really unfortunate because these are the type of events that Wichita Falls needs to give the city energy. It was an unseasonably warm day, but that was not stopping me from enjoying the food.
Trucks
Approximately 20 trucks that participated in the challenge. Of that 20, almost a third were barbecue trucks.

There were a few Mexican food trucks…
My favorite was Jamaican Thunder from Oklahoma City. The curry goat and jerk chicken were amazing. Both were $14.

Kona Ice’s truck provided a place where people could beat the heat.
More trucks..
Amenities
The city did a good job with the extras at the festival. Live bands played throughout the day. There was a children’s play area, complete with bouncy castles and face paint.
There was a centrally located beer garden. Beers started at $4.50.
Toilets were in abundance.
Final Word
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I hope that the city continues to have these type of event. This shows the citizens of Wichita Falls that the town does not want to be boring. I cannot wait for the next big event in this town.
