Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport lost power in different areas at 1pm EST today.
The airport does not have a clue how or why the outage occurred. For an airport that processes over 2,000 flights and 275,000 passengers per day, this is unbelievable.
The outage has caused the Federal Aviation Administration to issue a ground stop for all flight to/from Atlanta.
I hope that power is restored soon and the affected passengers are allowed to complete their travels. I also hope that this was not a terrorist attack on the airport, which was my initial thought. The airport will have to put more money into infrastructure to prevent this problem from happening again.
