American Express Centurion Lounges are some of my favorite lounges to visit. I visit one on just about every trip because I travel through Dallas or Houston. The following bit of news will break my, and many others, travel routine as it pertains to Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW). The American Express Centurion Lounge at DFW posted this statement on their website:
The Centurion Lounge at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport will be temporarily closed from July 24th, 2018 to August 14th, 2018 as we work on necessary repairs to the space. We apologize for the inconvenience and look forward to reopening as soon as possible. In the meantime, in Terminal D, Card Members have access to The Club at DFW and Minute Suites.
As mentioned in the statement, there are two other options for Priority Pass at DFW. The Club, located airside across from D15 and the Minute Suites, located airside near D23 and A38. Before closing, the American Express Centurion Lounge faced crowding during peak times. If the same customers try to visit The Club, many will be turned away. The following is directly the Priority Pass website:
Access may be restricted due to space constraints. Please note this is a temporary location. Permanent location will open Summer 2018.
The Minute Suites are more of a rest area than a lounge. There are approximately 10 suites at either location. The temporary closure of the American Express Centurion Lounge at DFW will slightly affect the travel experience for many of us who frequent DFW. On the bright side, at least it will give us an opportunity to check out some of the food options in the terminals. Safe travels.
