Hi, welcome to the first installment of the annual year in review for Phillips Loop Blog.  I started this annual review to share some of my most memorable travel moments for the past year.  In the 2017 Year in Review, I compiled one post because the blog had only been around for a few months.  For this year, I felt the need to break the year in review into quarters (three month increments) due to the significant increase in content.  This installment will cover quarter one (January – March).  I will post the reviews through the end of the year.  Without further ado, here are some of my most memorable moments from 2018.

I started off the year with a huge trip to Boston and Nashville. The trip was so big that I separated it into two installments.  The trip allowed me to have some of the best cheesecake on a United Airlines A320 that I had ever eaten, even if the flight attendant was not the nicest.  That United Airlines A320 flight review was this site’s most viewed post of 2018.  Boston was cold, as is expected in January, but that did not stop me from visiting Harpoon Brewery for a quick tour.

The Nashville portion of the trip did not start off well due to a less than impressive Delta Airlines’ flight from Boston to Nashville.  I enjoyed my short time in Nashville by visiting Hattie B’s for some hot chicken and Two Bits to enjoy the video games. The trip ended on a sour note as I broke my camera while boarding in Houston.

I continued into February by publishing 8 Travel Must Haves and 8 Travel Should Nots for the year. These lists were not all encompassing, just things that make travel more enjoyable for me. The month took an unfortunate turn when I decided to visit The Great Wolf Lodge near Dallas Fort Worth Airport. It was definitely an experience that I will not soon forget. All was not lost in February as flights to Wakanda were available via Atlanta.

March was an epic month for me.  I was able to start the month off relatively slowly by visiting the Renaissance Hotel in Richardson, Texas.  The hotel was close to a great sushi spot, Sushi Sake, that I want to visit again.  ASAP.  I then increased Phillips Loop Social Media presence.  This was something that came with growing pains, but I enjoyed it.

I rounded out March by outlining a trip that I was on to Asia.  This was the most fulfilling trip that I had ever taken in my life.  The trip came with some growing pains.  Those pains included issues with a Chinese visafirst class award redemption on Singapore, and which seat to book on Singapore Airlines A380. The teaser posts of United Airline’s 777-200 Business Class, Singapore Airlines 777-300 Business Class, Singapore Airlines A380 Suites Class, and United Airlines 777-300 Business Polaris bring back fond memories of a bucket list trip.

Final Word
As you can see, I hit the ground running in 2018.  This quarter included some of the most fulfilling traveling that I had ever experienced. If this was an indication of things to come, I was ready for it.
