The weather in the northeastern part of the country is supposed to be particularly frigid this weekend. I started brainstorming about ways that you all could enjoy the weather, while saving some money and having a good time. Well, one option, the Colonnade Hotel in Boston brought back their Frosty Fridays (which I wrote about last year) offer for another season.
The offer is as follows:
Guests who stay weekends December 1, 2018 through April 8, 2019, and book the two night Frosty Fridays weekend package to pay only the outside temperature on Friday night, based on the 5:00 p.m. reading by the National Weather Service, for their room. For example, if the temperature is 19 degrees on Friday night, you pay $19 for your Friday night stay, plus a special rate of $289 for Saturday night. The low temperature for Friday, January 18th is supposed to be in the low 20s. The two night stay would be approximately $167 USD.
The $167 USD price tag may not seem like that good of a deal, but it comes with the following:
- Choice of 2 tickets to either the Old Town Trolley Tour OR admission and skating rentals at The Boston Common Frog Pond Skating Rink
- “Make your own” hot chocolate bar, which includes marshmallows, cinnamon sticks, candy canes, caramel, etc.
- Overnight parking
- Late check-out (2 pm)
The only change on the list is from last year is the number of tickets for the Old Town Trolley Tout or skating. Anyone using this deal could get up to four tickets last year. I still feel that it is a good deal because the trolley tours are approximately $40 USD per ticket. Skating at Boston Commons offers $18 USD per guest. The complimentary parking adds another $48 USD in value. The add-ons have the potential to bring the average price per night to almost $100 USD. I feel that is an incredible deal for Boston.
Final Word
Boston is a lovely city. If I were still living in New Hampshire, the Colonnade Hotel would become my go to property in the winter. Have fun and stay safe.
