After an hour delay in Dallas, we finally arrived in Houston. I will not review the flight because it was an aircraft, United Airlines ERJ-175, that I have reviewed in the past. Upon arriving at Terminals C, I quickly found the Skyway for the short ride over to Terminal A. I made a left from the Skyway, walked down a long hall, made another slight left, and Cadillac Mexican Kitchen and Tequila Bar was just to the right.
Cadillac Mexican Kitchen and Tequila Bar is one of four Priority Pass Lounges at Houston Intercontinental Airport. The other three are Landry’s Seafood, KLM Royal Crown Lounge, and Air France Lounge (the only one that I have not visited). There is also an XpresSpa, just outside of the restaurant, where Priority Pass members get an additional five minutes after booking a 30 minute massage.
The restaurant operates from 0600-2200 daily. Priority Pass members receive a $28 USD credit for use. There was not a host to greet/seat customers. In fact, the bartender was the only person working the floor. She was the bartender, server, and busser. While there were only nine patrons in the restaurant, she was overwhelmed (as seen by the customers standing around the bar and dirty dishes on the bar top in the first picture).
I decided to walk around the restaurant before placing an order. To the left of the entrance was a nice seating area. The area included some booths and an assortment of other tables.
To the right of the entrance was a bigger seating area, which consisted of communal tables, more booths, and smaller tables. I really liked the televisions above the booths and floor design throughout the restaurant.
There was also some high top seats available with terminal views at the entrance.
Speaking of views. The restaurant had huge windows that offered views of the parking apron and a runway in the distance.
I finally sat down at the bar after the other customers closed their checks and the bartender had a chance to catch her breath. She quickly provided me a menu and took my drink order. The menu was way too long to get a decent picture. I ordered a breakfast taco with sausage, eggs, jalapenos and avocado. It was served alongside hash browns and salsa.
The food arrived in less than 10 minutes, but it was underwhelming, to say the least. The tortilla was rubbery and the avocado was definitely not fresh. The eggs, sausage, and hash browns were ok.
After spending nearly an hour in the restaurant, it was time for me to go. I did have time to witness a customer thank three TSA agents for working during the government shutdown.
Final Word
Cadillac Mexican Kitchen and Tequila Bar was one of the better Priority Pass restaurants that I have visited. The amount of seating options and views of the parking ramp are enough to make me visit again. The food could use some work, but who am I am to complain when I got it for “free” using Priority Pass. I would visit Cadillac Mexican Kitchen again.
