Flight time: 2hr 17min

Boarding began on time at 0905 and with those requiring special assistance. The next group was Concierge Key, followed by Group 1 (which included military personnel). I was originally scheduled to board in Group 8. Boarding earlier allowed to me leave the crowded Terminal B. I even managed to find my correct seat, a task that proved difficult on my previous flight.

During boarding, someone watched Alvin and the Chipmunks without headphones. It was wayyyyyy too early for that. One thing that I did appreciate was that there was only one announcement made during the first 15 minutes of boarding. Another thing that I noticed during boarding was that the seats filled up from the aisles to the windows. Was this flight an exception or the norm?

While waiting for boarding to finish, I snapped a quick picture of the cabin. The overhead bins were small, but at least they opened upward.

I also checked out the fairly basic tray table. it was stored in the seat back.

Boarding was complete at 0930. At this time, the captain came on to let us know of the 1hr 44min flight time to Boston. At 0933, we began our pushback. The safety demonstration was performed and the engines were started soon thereafter.

We began our taxi at 0938, at which point the cabin lights were dimmed. After a short taxi, we we airborne at 0948. The takeoff roll and climb out were smooth.

Service began 15 minutes after takeoff. I ordered a Jack and Diet Coke which was served with the same hard biscuit as my previous flight.

Gogo WiFi was available for purchase. Due to the short duration of the flight, I did not purchase it. There was quite a selection of tv shows and movies available through the wireless entertainment feature. I did not watch any of the shows. I decided to play Tetris on my phone instead. Note: T-Mobile get one hour of free WiFi.

Before long, we were beginning our descent into Boston. At this point, I still had service items on my tray, but there was not a flight attendant in sight. I am cool with them relaxing because I am sure that they have a long day ahead of them, but I really had to use the restroom. Ayudame! LOL

Eventually, I gathered my trash and took it to the rear galley for disposal. I approached the flight attendants with the trash and this is what happened. The attendants continued to chat, while seated, and did not say anything to me. I felt it was rude, but customer service on domestic flights leaves something to be desired.

We had a smooth landing in Boston at 1129. After a four minute taxi, we arrived at our gate, but had to hold short of the gate because it was not prepared for us. We waited for another 13 and then continued into parking. This has happened on consecutive flights into Boston.

Final Word

While neither of my American Airlines flights were that bad, I would prefer a direct flight. Going from Dallas to Charlotte to Boston was a little more traveling than I wanted. Oh well, I did it to myself, I felt it was a small price to pay for to position for my trip to Asia. I was off to baggage claim for quite the wait.
