Review: Four Points by Sheraton – Oklahoma City Airport

To kick our cruise off right , I decided to stay in Oklahoma City the night before our flights to Orlando. The decision came down to whether I wanted to drive two hours to Will Rogers airport the morning of the flight or get to a hotel early in the evening on Friday and relax before our early morning flight the next day, I chose the latter.

Booking

I booked the hotel for 13,500 Marriott Bonvoy points. I was able to receive 500 welcome points…read below.

Arrival

The hotel is located west of downtown Oklahoma City on interstate 40 and just north of Will Rogers World Airport. The side road to get here is sketchy to say the least. I had never seen this side of OKC before, that is all I will say about it because WTF. The hotel did have complimentary onsite parking though.

Check-In

As we walked into the property, I started to look around and take some pictures. The guy standing at the desk (which was on the left) started asking a bunch of questions. Mind you, I am not near or talking to him. How are you doing tonight? What’s your name? How long are you staying? This was all before I could walk to the front desk.

I then began the process of asking him about shuttle to the airport. Before I could finish my question, he stated that the shuttle starts at 7am. I asked him to let me finish my statement before interjecting.

So I asked about the 4am shuttle to the airport. He said there’s no shuttle available, thanks. I then asked about breakfast for platinum elite members, he said there is no breakfast. As a matter of fact, I would have to pay (but it starts at 7am). Lastly, I then asked him about welcome points even though it was an award redemption. To which he said “there are no points”.

I assume he was training because WTF man?! The lovely lady he was working with came over and provided clarification. She stated I would get points, breakfast would be complimentary, if I were here when it was available and Sebastian would try to hook us up with a shuttle ride to the airport. Sheesh.

Room

There was no hint of an upgrade when we checked in. I did not bother asking buddy down there. Our standard, double bed room was on the second floor. Once we exited the elevator and turned right, it was on the left.

The room was nothing special. As a matter of fact, the two things that amused Nicholas was the microwave/refrigerator stack and the heated mirror in the bathroom.

The room seemed like it was a mash up of Courtyard and Fairfield properties. It wanted to be nice but could not quite get there. As we entered the room, the closet was on the left. It had an iron, ironing board and suitcase stand.

To the right was the bathroom with the aforementioned light switch. This was the coolest thing in the room.

As we exited the bathroom, we “encountered” the stack. Who would leave the fridge and microwave like that? Then quality person looked at it? Ain’t no way!

The actual room, the tv and beds were not bad. Except the desk under the TV was missing flare.

The chaise in the corner looked out of place. I would not let Nicholas sit on it.

Fitness

The 24hr fitness center was located on the first floor, just past the elevators, on the left.

This was hands down the best room on the property. I will let the pictures speak for themselves.

Dining

The Hub Bar and Grill

The Hub Bar and Grill was supposedly the signature restaurant of the property.

We walked down to the bar area and I asked where the hub was because I read about it on the hotel’s website and there was a sign. The guy said he didn’t know what I was talking about as it was only called “the bar”. I asked for the usual Shirley Temple for Nicholas, we do this at EVERY Marriott property we visit. There was no cherry juice or grenadine. The guy said he only had cranberry.

I then asked for Tito’s and water…there was no Tito’s, only Ketel One. What??? This got out of hand quickly. How bro?!

I gave him the benefit of the doubt and tried to order plain wings for Nicholas. Plain wings are not a thing I guess. The bartender stated that he only had BBQ, blackened, and something or another. Another WTF?!

I ended up ordering Nicholas some house fries. They came out 10 minutes later and they were Cajun with garlic powder seasoning.

After a time, I had had enough and went to the DoorDash app to help with these issue. don’t know what the premise of the property was but they are missing it.

Final Word

I thought the Four Points by Sheraton would be a safe bet but boy was I wrong. From the interaction with the guy at the front desk to the fries with garlic powder. The Four Points by Sheraton was a good idea but did not deliver. I will not visit the property again in the future unless something drastically changes.
