Review: Plaza Premium Lounge – Dallas/Fort Worth Airport

I had a three hour layover in Dallas while enroute to New York for the weekend. The Club, a Priority Pass Lounge, in Terminal D is my usual go to spot. However, while looking through the Priority Pass app, I spied a “new to me” lounge in Terminal E…Plaza Premium Lounge.

Plaza Premium Lounge

I was arriving at the Terminal E Satellite, Gate E30 so it was a no brainer to check out the Plaza Premium Lounge at gate E31. The lounge is nestled between the Mexican restaurant on the left and gate E31 on the right.

I do not know how long the lounge has been open but the secret is out! It was packed at 0730 on a Friday morning. I tried to keep guest’s faces out of the photo but that was a task.

There appeared to be about 40 seats in the space. Of the 40, four were bar top seating. This created congestion as the bar counter and the hot food station were so close.

Many guests had their luggage strewn about, while others had purses or other bags occupying seats. It appeared to be a free for all.

I was welcomed to the lounge by one of the hostesses/bartenders/servers. There were three of them performing the same functions. I provided my Priority Pass card and boarding pass. The friendly hostess told me the stay would be limited to two hours. Fair enough but I would not need two hours, respectfully.

I grabbed a small, two seat table just in front of the check-in counter. This was to keep a low footprint while in the lounge. To right of the counter and nearly in front of me, was a station with bagels, fruit, and drinks. I grabbed a raisin bagel that was rather tasty.

I eventually made it to the bar/hot food counter to grab a drink and something hot to snack on. Before I could do that, I had a look at the bar menu. There were complimentary drinks and top shelf drinks/bottled beer, for a fee.

I ordered a well mimosa (something I have never said before) and picked up a plate of food from one of the hostess/bartender/server super women.

The bacon and hard boiled eggs were perfect. The homestyle potatoes were the highlight of the plate. I felt like they were cooked in bacon fat or something, I could not stop eating them. I did not touch the biscuit as it looked way too dry.

Final Word

The Plaza Premium Lounge in Terminal E at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport was a welcomed surprise. The capacity issues at Tje Club surely caused this lounge to come into existence. I feel once the guests are provided guidance on how to behave in regard to managing space and showing grace to others, this lounge could become a new favorite of mine at DFW.
