If you recall, I was frustrated with the length of time American Express took to deposit points into my rewards account.
Today, I checked my American Express account and was shocked to see that the points had finally been deposited.
The sign up (spend $5K within three months, receive 60,000 points) and Refer-A-Friend bonus all deposited into my account six days after the second billing cycle closed. I’m not sure why both of the credit card referral bonuses appeared at the same time because the applications were completed weeks apart. The spend bonus tends to appear a few days after reaching the threshold.
Now that this issue is resolved, it is time to start planning how to maximize the points. The redemption that comes to mind is Singapore Airlines first class. I had the pleasure to experience the product between Tokyo and Los Angeles last year for ~75,000 Krisflyer miles. See the award chart here. The ticket costs ~$10,000 is purchased outright.
The trip was amazing, especially Book-the-Cook.

Although I had to wait longer than usual, I am excited to have the points in my account. It is a good feeling to plan a really nice trip for ‘free’.
