As of a few months ago, Wichita Falls has a new Marriott property. The Fairfield Inn and Suites is a welcomed addition to the local community. A few weeks ago, I decided to check out the property and it did not disappoint.

Booking
I made a mistake by booking the standard King room at the government/military rate for $93 because the standard rate was $85 a night. Pro tip: check you Marriott app preferences when booking rooms. I should have switched between the standard and government/military rate (as I always do).
Arrival
The hotel is a short 10 minute ride from my house. There was free parking at the property. I parked on the right side of the hotel because that is where a bulk of the parking was located.
Check-in
The front desk was located on the left as I entered the hotel. There was quite a bit of a wait before I was helped because of the five people in front of me. After about a 10 minutes wait, I provided my credit card and ID. By paying with my Marriott Rewards credit card, I was able to earn 540 rewards points. I was informed that I had been upgraded to a King Suite, which I appreciated. There was a small seating area and business center across from the front desk.

Room
The elevator is located on the left after leaving the lobby and opposite of the fitness center/pool. My room was located on the third floor, away from the elevator (Marriott app preferences). Upon exiting the elevator, I made a left and my room was down on the right.
The room was the nicest Fairfield Marriott room that I had ever visited. It was spacious and nicely appointed.

To the left, after entering, was the bathroom. It was a decent size. The best part of the bathroom was the high shower.

After leaving the bathroom and making a left, the mini refrigerator, microwave and coffee pot are there on the left.

The next area that you come to is the main sleeping area. It includes the huge king bed, a tv, and a very small, but functional closet.

Just past the sleeping area was the living area. It included a couch (which is a pull out bed), desk, and tv.

There was a view to the neighborhood at the back of the hotel, but it was not appealing.

Dining
The hotel has a complimentary breakfast that was offered daily in the lobby. I did not try the breakfast, but Fairfield properties have a decent hot breakfast which includes a waffle station.

If the breakfast was not in your plans, small snacks could be bought from the Corner Market just to the left of the front desk.

Fitness
The fitness center and pool are located on the first, opposite the elevators. It was a convenient location that looked small before I went inside.

The pool was to the left. This is a great option for Wichita Falls because the weather is so unpredictable.

While the fitness center was straight ahead. It was a decent option, as far as hotel gyms go.

Final Word
Thanks to Marriott for bringing another great property to Wichita Falls. This hotel will get a lot of use from the local community and business travelers. The one downside to the property is the lack of food on the property, which not many, if any Fairfield properties have. This would definitely not stop me from visiting the property again.
