Earlier I wrote about a paid upgrade to exit row seats because I could not bear another flight like the one from Dallas in the duo seats. As luck would have it, there was an option to upgrade to business class for $630 USD. Sign me up!

This was a steal if there is such a thing. I purchased the center seats in the last row of the second business class cabin. It gave me deja vu as it reminded of a similar upgrade on Emirates Airlines 777 to Dallas.
We arrived at the airport four hours prior to departure. The Paris traffic is brutal in the mornings so I did not want to take any chances.
Upon entering Terminal 2E, we turned left towards lane 7 which was Sky Priority and Business Class.

Our boarding passes were verified then we approached another security counter on the far wall where we were questioned about our belongings and our passports, along with boarding passes, were verified again. Once that was over, we made our way to the check-in counter.

The check-in was painless. We had hard copy boarding passes and were on our way within 10 minutes. There was a border patrol checkpoint behind the counters. We were in this line 15-20 minutes. It would have been less if one of the agents did not leave the booth with 30 people in the queue.
Once we were through that checkpoint, we hopped the train for Terminal L.

After a brief ride, we arrived at the L gates. This is where we encountered a final security scan. It was complete in less than five minutes.
After security, we made a right towards our gate so we could go to Duty Free to buy gifts for people back home.

Once the macaroons and hot sauce were secured, we doubled back to find the Air France Lounge. The elevator for the lounge, which was on the third level, was near the sign for L21-L36.

Once we entered, the agent asked us to scan our boarding passes and we were inside.

The lounge was HUGE! There was a ton of people there as well but it did not seem crowded as there was plenty of room.

We passed the business part of the lounge, which was to the right, as we tried to find a seat. There were so many amenities.

We found seating between the food station and the wine bar. Both had quite the selection. There were at least seven different wines, eggs, sausage, bacon cold cuts and fruits. In addition to food, there were more alcoholic and non-alcoholic selections.

I grabbed eggs, bacon, baguette and a beer. The food was wayyyy better in the longer than the flight to Paris.

At this point, it was time to make our way to the gate.
Final Word
By purchasing an upgrade to Business Class Air France’s A350 to Dallas, we were granted access to the Air France Lounge. The lounge provided a space to regroup prior to our 10 hour flight home.
