I have lived in Wichita Falls for a few years now and am trying my best to visit every restaurant in town. There are a few restaurants, such as Texas Roadhouse and On the Border, that I have not visited in months because of a horrible experience. On the other hand there are others, such as Pho Cafe, that I practically throw my money at.
As part of my local restaurant crusade, I decided to visit Gutierrez Family Restaurant this past Saturday. Gutierrez Family Restaurant is located in the eastern section of Wichita Falls, just minutes from downtown. I had driven pass the restaurant many times over the years but never stopped.
The parking lot, much like the restaurant itself, is very small. This is not an issue because the parking lot and seating seem to be the same capacity.
The restaurant one open room. The kitchen, cashier, and most of the seating was to the left.

While there were a few more tables to the right.

Since this was my first visit, my friend and I had no idea what to order to order. We look over the menus, that were waiting at the table, for a few minutes before placing our order.

I ordered the chorizo, egg, and potato burrito, while my friend ordered a simple plate of nachos. While we waited for the food to be delivered, we were provided some water. There are sodas and juices available, but no alcohol.
The food arrived in less than 10 minutes. I was surprised by the size of both dishes. The burrito was flavorful and filling. My friend did not have saw how he felt about the nachos. He ate the entire plate.

Final Word
I am kind of bummed that I had not visited Gutierrez Family Restaurant prior to this last Saturday. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The food was hot and delicious. I cannot wait to return again so that I can try more items.
