American Express Centurion Lounge at Miami International to Close Temporarily

Last October, on a trip to Costa Rica with some friends, I had one of my worst travel experiences.  There was a delay from Oklahoma City then missed flights from Houston and Miami. One of the highlights of the trip occurred when I visited the American Express Centurion Lounge at Miami International Airport.  The lounge was not the biggest, but it had the same appeal as other American Express Centurion Lounges. I was able to take a shower and grab a quick drink before I boarded my flight to Costa Rica.  Beginning Monday, guests will not be able to enjoy a hot shower or drinks in the lounge for a short time, as it will be closed.

American Express announced the temporary closure of the American Express Centurion Lounge at Miami International Airport.  The lounge will close January 14, 2019 for a short, but undetermined, amount of time to facilitate upgrades and expansion.

Alternative lounges are the Delta Sky Club (when flying Delta) or Priority Pass Lounges, if enrolled in the program.

Final Word
The temporary closure will disrupt the travel plans of some passengers.  While the disruption is not ideal, it allows the lounge to improve overall, which is good for future guests.
