The first quarter of 2018 was special for me because it afforded me the opportunity to visit many places within the United States. I am very thankful that I am able to travel regularly due in part to the support that I receive from family, friends, and military supervisors. The support will be evident in this installment of the blog’s 2018 Year in Review.

As the second quarter of the year began, I found myself wrapping up the trip of a lifetime to Asia. I never imagined that I would be in the position to travel to the far ends of the world using mostly points and miles. I was able to fly on United Airlines’ 777-200 from Newark to Beijing. It was on that flight that I had one of the best flight attendants. The trip took me to Kuala Lumpur aboard SilkAir and back through Singapore so that I could fly in Suites Class on Singapore Airlines’ A380. It will be hard to for me to top this trip in the future.

May was a relatively quiet month, if we are comparing it to March and April. I was able to visit Oklahoma City for a night. This led me to staying at the Renaissance Hotel OKC. The hotel was gorgeous and in a great location. I was also able to visit San Antonio due to a work commitment. During my stay In San Antonio, I wanted be close to the mall, so I chose the Fairfield Inn and Suites at the North Star Mall. The hotel definitely left a lot to be desired.

To wrap up the quarter, I completed a trip to Costa Rica. Costa Rica is one of my favorite places to visit in the world. Getting to Costa Rica was relatively straightforward, I was able to catch United Airlines’ regional product from Oklahoma City. We stayed at a few different properties while in the country. The Courtyard Marriott in Alajuela was underwhelming but the Costa Rica Marriott was phenomenal. If I could stay in one hotel for the rest of my life, that would be it.

Final Word
The second quarter began with a bang. I will never forget the trip to Asia nor my trip to Costa Rica. The year was shaping up to be one of my best travel years to date. Stay tuned to the recap of quarter three.
Look at that Dom P. Well done buddy. What a quarter it was for you.
Thanks. 2018 was a great year, can’t wait to see what 2019 has to offer.
